COIR FIBRE (COCO PEAT)

Coconut fibre, also known as coco peat, is derived from coconut husks. The processed husk and long fibres are removed to obtain coco peat, which can absorb large amounts of water and is used as a substrate and as a substitute for traditional peat in soil mixtures for plant cultivation.

Manufacturing process:

  1. Coconut husks are collected for processing.
  2. The fibre is separated from the outer sheath
  3. Long fibre and coir pith are collected separately after processing.
  4. The product undergoes a washing treatment to remove water-soluble elements such as potassium, sodium and chloride. The salt content is reduced to an EC < 0.8 mS / cm [water extraction method 1: 1.5].
  5. The coconut fibre is screened and processed into 5kg compressed blocks, briquettes or uncompressed big bales.
  6. Products are shipped palletised or in bulk in sea containers.

Flora Baltica provides different products based on coconut fibre imported directly from India and Sri Lanka with different grades of EC and fibre content. The product is transported directly to your factoryt in sea containers.

Coconut fibre has natural rooting hormones and antifungal properties. This makes it an excellent growing medium for hydroponics or potted plants.
